Valencia in one dayThe Central Market first thing, when it's alive, and the Silk Exchange right opposite, fifteenth-century civil Gothic and a World Heritage Site. The cathedral after, with the Holy Chalice. And the afternoon at the City of Arts and Sciences, twenty minutes away by bike along the Turia bed, the park that occupies the river they diverted.1 day· 4 stops
Valencia in two daysThe old town on day one — cathedral, Silk Exchange, Central Market and the two surviving city gates — and on day two the modern city: the Turia gardens by bike to the City of Arts, and the Cabanyal at sunset. It is all walkable or cyclable; the centre is flat and small.2 days· 8 stops
Valencia in four daysThe city at a calm pace plus the Albufera: sunset by boat on the lake and rice at El Palmar, where real paella was born. Four days also allow beach without rushing, and climbing both surviving city gates, from which the city finally makes sense.4 days· 9 stops
