Day one heads east along the corniche: Nice, the bay of Villefranche, the hanging village of Èze, ending in Monaco. Day two goes west: Antibes, with its walled old town and the Picasso museum, and Cannes. It's all linked by local train that runs right along the sea for a few euros: renting a car here is the worse deal.

A suggestion, not a rule: once you create the trip you can split it up however you like.

💡Leave the car: the coastal train is faster and far cheaper
The Marseille-Ventimiglia line runs the whole coast stopping at Cannes, Antibes, Nice, Villefranche, Monaco and Menton, with trains every few minutes and tickets of a few euros. Parking in any of those towns in summer costs three to five euros an hour, when there is space. You only need wheels for the interior.
💡Nearly all the beaches are pebbles, not sand
The one in Nice, the famous one, is large shingle and walking barefoot genuinely hurts. Bring water shoes or sandals, sold everywhere, and a thick towel or a mat, because the stones dig in. The sandy ones are at Villefranche, Antibes-Juan les Pins and Cannes; Pampelonne at Saint-Tropez is the best but it is far.
